Host a Mother Crop...

PlanWhen I decided to host a mother-daughter crop, I realized it would take careful planning to ensure moms and daughters both had a good time. Before sending out your invitations:
Prepare your guest list. Consider giving separate invitations to the moms and daughters. (Just think of how much fun it would be for your daughter to get her own invitation!)
Pick a date and time. Make sure both will be convenient for all of your guests. If any daughters attend school or any moms work during the day, consider an evening or Saturday party.
Choose a location. If you plan to have the party in your home, make sure you can accommodate everyone without being crowded. If you would like to invite numerous guests, consider a location that can easily accommodate a larger crowd.

PrepareOnce my invitations were out and the date was set, it was time to plan the actual party. Luckily, the activity was already decided—scrapbooking! Consider the following when deciding party details:
Choose food that both moms and daughters will enjoy. Make sure it will appeal to most tastes.
Select a scrapbook project that all guests can participate in. If the planned project is too complicated for young minds, consider splitting it into two projects: a simple one for the daughters and a more complicated one for the moms.
Plan party decor that relates to what you’re doing. Notice the “crop” details Amy included in this door garland and wreath. Guests loved seeing this creative scissor-and-flower display at the front door

EnjoyFinally, the day of our mother-daughter crop arrived! For our party, I chose to set a table with centerpieces, favor cups with treats (to keep us scrapping for hours!), and a place card with each person’s name. Consider these ideas as well:
For the easiest project and cleanup, give each guest a scrapbook kit to create a few pages.
If the girls are young, provide “just add photos” kits with extra embellishments to use if desired.
To help get everyone started, hand out quick lists of possible events or subjects to scrapbook.
Place “conversation starter” cards around the table with interesting questions so the guests can easily converse with each other while they create their projects.
